Fields of Spring Cushion - Crochet Stitch Sampler
So, with the crochet retreat getting ever nearer, I thought I'd better make a start designing the weekend project!
I wanted something that everyone from a beginner to pro could make and be interested by, so I decided very early on that this would be a stitch sampler. I wanted it to be something that will feel like a big project, but can be completed in a weekend - so I thought a cushion would be perfect. Once the crochet retreat is finished I think I will run this as a crochet along if there is enough interest!
I've chosen a Spring theme as the retreat is at the end of March. For me Spring is Daffodils...which just so happen to be my favourite flower! Spring for me also always feels like a new start. Blossom on the trees creating new leaves. Baby lambs prancing around in the countryside. I always think of white when I think of Spring, new and fresh.
The yarn I am using Paintbox Aran, I am a little bit of a Paintbox lover. The range of colours in their colour pallet is, for me, unrivaled by any other premium acrylic on the market. And it's really economically priced too! I've chosen greens, yellows, white and blues which capture Spring for me. I'm using stitch combinations which don't leave too much of a gap between them, so that the cover doesn't need to be lined.
I'll give you guys an update later this week!
